2024 Oscars Predictions:
Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling
Weekly Commentary (Updated Jan. 18, 2024): Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro” and Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” look solid for recognition, while Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” could pull off a nom here with its momentum. This category often delivers a shocking snub, especially when many believe it will win (i.e., “American Hustle”). Could that be any of the presumed top three?
Bleecker Street’s “Golda and Universal Pictures’ “The Last Voyage of Demeter” seem like those types of films the branch goes for, even when not contending in other categories (i.e., 2013’s “The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared”). Pick your poison.
